Best Buddies High Schools Takes the Ice

A unanimous decision was made during a meeting with all of the High School Chapter Presidents of Best Buddies Nevada.
The chapter leaders decided that it was time to create more opportunities for the Buddy Pairs and members to attend group activities and get to know the other BBNV High School Chapters.
Each Chapter President signed up for a month during the 2010-11 school year to host an activity for all of the Best Buddies High School’s in Nevada.
To start 2010 off with a bang Conor Gaffney, Chapter President of Bishop Gorman, hosted the first BBNV High School Activity, which was Ice-Skating at the Fiesta Hotel and Casino.
Participants, family, friends and Best Buddies Staff came out to the rink for fun and many laughs, as it was the first time on the ice for most of us!
The high school participants had a fabulous day and each made some new friends from the other Best Buddies High School Chapters in Nevada.
The day ended with the participants sharing stories from the ice over a cup of hot cocoa.
